We had events, events and more events going on. I trust that amongst them were some that pleased each of you and that you were able to participate in. Participation is the key to enjoying your Club. You can dine at any one of untold restaurants in the area, but the key ingredient they lack is that when you walk in the front door of our Club, you will always he among friends, not strangers. That is what "Clubbing" is all about. Our Cabana Committee is up and running, chaired by Jack Sauter PC. They had their first organizational meeting on March 9th and, after soliciting suggestions from all of you, their second meeting to digest and sort out your suggestions is scheduled toward the end of March. This is a very dedicated group of members that are taking their time and looking at all of the various possibilities in order to come up with a workable and cost effective solution. You may have noticed the new uniforms the wait staff is wearing. The House Committee, along with GM Jerry Clemens, did a great job in choosing them. I think you'll agree they are not only a big improvement, but more closely personify the yacht club motif and atmosphere that is St. Charles. As you know, when you changed the By-laws at the Annual Meeting in January, you were told that increasing the membership cap would allow us to keep from raising the dues this year and for the nextfew years. That was correct, but the premise was that we would fill this cap with new members, thereby bringing in new revenue. To date, we've been able to get replacement members for members that have left. However, we haven't filled any of the new slots and that is crucial to our meeting our budget for this year. Our main source for new members is you, the current membership, and I urge you to talk to your friends, business acquaintances and neighbors (or former neighbors) that you feel would make a valuable addition to our Club and see if they would like to join this small, intimate Club. IVe truly need your help in order to accomplish our goal. Speaking of the By-laws, we have formed a By-laws Committee to continually evaluate them and recommend changes when conditions warrant, rather than address them on an ad hoc basis. VC Bob Williams is chairing this important task.

ENRICHMENT SERIES April 25th — 5:30 pm "THE BAHAMAS FROM THE AIR, SEA AND LAND" By Sue & Frank Moore On Thursday, April 25th, we will view the Bahamas from the air, land and sea. Sue & Frank Moore, two of our newest members at St Charles, will share the slides from their plane trip to the Bahamas. Frank began his love of photography in 1945, and is primarily a nature photographer, with a specialty of birds, since moving to Florida four years ago. Sue is a private pilot, and they combine their talents and thirst for adventure in aerial photography of local, as well as distant exotic places. Frank has been President of various camera clubs, both in New York and in Florida, and has had gallery shows in both locations, as well as in Rhode Island. Frank continues to enhance his skills by attending educational sessions and workshops in photography. This has proven to be a great hobby after retiring from the hectic life of an Ob-Gyn. After seeing these gorgeous islands, you may be inspired to make a trip to the Bahamas when the St. Charles group sets sail! Please reserve for the evening by calling Jerry at 466-2007.
